Fire heavily damages Gilbert Street home

Georgetown City fire investigators will be busy today trying to determine what caused a fire Monday evening that destroyed the interior of a home in the West End.
Firefighters received the call at about 10:30 p.m. about a fire at 1920 Gilbert Street.
The house was fully involved when the first crews arrived on the scene.
Fire Chief Joey Tanner said one adult and two children were in the home when the fire started but all three were able to get out safely.
Firefighters spent about 90 minutes extinguishing the blaze.
Tanner said the family was placed in a hotel by the Red Cross.
